Real Madrid has agreed to a $35 million deal to sign Mariano Diaz back from Lyon.

Mariano left Real Madrid for Lyon for $9.3 million a year ago.

Mariano is Real Madrid's first attacking signing since Cristiano Ronaldo left for Juventus.

Real Madrid will assign No. 7 to Mariano, which was previously worn by Ronaldo.

Monaco has signed Benjamin Henrichs from Bayer Leverkusen for €20 million ($23 million).

Henrichs is a 21-year-old right back who can also play on the left and in midfield.

"I am very proud to be involved with AS Monaco, a top European club for many years, and I will do everything I can to adapt quickly and help the team achieve many victories, with the staff and my new teammates," Henrichs said.

Lucas Moura scored two goals for Tottenham Hotspur in their 3-0 win at Manchester United on Monday.

Both Jose Mourinho and Alex Ferguson wanted to sign Moura for United in past windows.

Ferguson pursued Moura in 2012 before Paris Saint-Germain outbid United.

in 2016, Lucas’ own agent Wagner Ribeiro revealed that Jose Mourinho was also showing an interest in signing him.

Ribeiro declared that Mourinho wanted his man while at Real Madrid, and carried his interest over to Old Trafford.

“Who called Lucas Moura there [to Real Madrid]? It wasn’t Florentino Perez who wanted Lucas Moura, it was Mourinho,” said Ribeiro.

The agent for Lucas Torreira says he wishes his client could have joined Napoli instead of Arsenal if Carlo Ancelotti had been appointed sooner.

Napoli had been in talks with Sampdoria about a move for Torreira.

Pablo Bentancur told Radio Crc that he would have loved for his client to work under Ancelotti.

"It's a pity, I'm sorry Ancelotti wasn't there at the start of the negotiation," Bentancur said. "He'd have been a great help for Torreira, he has tremendous international experience. But then Lucas called me and he confirmed to me that negotiations with Arsenal were too advanced for any second thoughts.

"If the Arsenal deal had collapsed then Napoli would have been perfect."

Torreira has yet to start under Unai Emery.

Yaya Toure will join Olympiakos on a free transfer.

Toure played for Olympiakos in 2005-06 before moving to Monaco.

Earlier, Toure's agent Dimitry Seluk claimed the midfielder had passed a medical in London on Tuesday, leading to speculation that he was about to sign for a club in the English capital.

Roma has sold Kevin Strootman to Marseille for €25 million ($29 million).

Strootman made 130 appearances for Roma, scoring 13 goals, since joining from PSV Eindhoven in the summer of 2013.

Last summer, Strootman extended his contract with Roma until 2022 after persistent reports linking him to a potential move to Manchester United.

Borussia Dortmund have signed Paco Alcacer on a one-year loan from Barcelona.

Dortmund paid €2 million for the loan and could keep the 24-year-old for an additional €23 million next summer. 

Alcacer leaves Barcelona two years after joining from Valencia. Having appeared in only 37 La Liga matches since then, he is now hoping to revive his career in Germany.

"I'm looking forward to playing in the Bundesliga, one of the best leagues in the world, and for BVB in front of those incredible fans and the famous Yellow Wall, which is something magical for probably every footballer," Alcacer said.

Christian Eriksen is looking for a new, improved deal from Tottenham Hotspur and has received interest on the transfer market from Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Eriksen has become one of the world's best creative midfielders.

PSG reportedly could make a £100 million offer to Spurs for Eriksen.

Eriksen joined Spurs from Ajax in 2013.

Barcelona are preparing to pursue Mohamed Salah in 2019, according to Don Balon.

Barcelona reportedly views the 26-year-old Salah as a potential successor to Lionel Messi.

Salah could cost as much as $300 million if Barcelona can convince Liverpool to sell.

Kylian Mbappe is also of interest to Barcelona, but they are more apt to pursue Salah.

Real Madrid is waiting to see if Paris Saint-Germain will be sanctioned by UEFA for failing to comply with Financial Fair Play.

If PSG is found to have been in breach of UEFA's rules, they could be forced to sell one of their star players.

With the agreed loan term period for Mbappé ending on Monday, PSG must immediately fulfil their obligation to purchase the player from Monaco for €180 million.

With the transfer markets in Italy and England closed, Real Madrid would be the only club with the power to buy Kylian Mbappe.
